A Church That Prays....

"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers."

From the Church's very inception its identity was characteristically prayerful. The Disciples of the early church were a people that recognized the importance and the power of prayer. Prayer is the avenue through which we fellowship with God and the means by which we intercede on behalf of others. It is likewise the instrument by which God brings about His divine purposes in the lives of believers and those they pray for.

Coleman Baptist Church aims to be a Church that cultivates a culture of prayer in our people, a culture where brothers and sisters bear each other's burdens and commune with the Triune God.

A Church That Grows

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17

We are a church that desires to grow in our personal relationships with Christ as well as our relationships with one another. The primary means by which God desires to grow His church in knowledge and holiness is His Word. That is why Jesus prayed to the Father for His disciples that He would "Sanctify them in the truth, your word is truth (John 17:17)."

We aim to be a church that facilitates the process of iron sharpening iron by equipping the Church to study the Scriptures and be refined by them as we are "Transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2)," that we may be "complete" and "equipped" to live a life pleasing to God.

A Church That Multiplies.....

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts 1:8

The very identity of every believer is to be a part of the work of the advancement of the Gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ. We want to equip every believer to be an ambassador for Christ, pleading with a lost and dying world, "Be reconciled to God (1 Thessalonians 2:4)."

Whether it is in their community, the state, the nation or around the globe, God calls all His people to be faithful to open their mouths with His Word that He may save people from their sin and death. We have been entrusted with a precious and urgent message that has the power to save. Why would we keep it to ourselves?

A Church That Goes....

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20

As the culmination of all others of our core values, we aim to cultivate complete Christians who are equipped to go beyond the walls of Coleman Baptist Church. We want to raise up leaders for the Church, whether local or abroad.

God has given His people a variety of different gifts that are to be used for the good of His church. Whether a Pastor, Deacon, Missionary, Teacher, Homemaker, or wherever one is called, we desire to send people out into their various mission fields to lead others into a life of prayer, discipleship, and multiplication. Our faith does not begin and end on Sundays but spills out into the world around us.
